CGIC Upgraded To New ISO Level

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Corporate Guarantee and Insurance Company (CGIC) achieved on July 25 another momentous feat, as SGS Philippines formally announced that the non-life insurance company is now ISO 9001:2015 certified.

CGIC is the first insurance firm in the country to be recommended by SGS Philippines for transition to the new ISO version, after the company passed anew its IS0 recertification concluded last March.

The ISO Certification is about high international standards on Quality Management Systems and Processes.

The recertification audit was conducted to determine CGIC’s conformity with ISO 9001:2015 Audit Criteria and its ability to ensure that applicable statutory and regulatory requirements are met.

The exercise was also conducted to validate the company’s effectiveness to ensure total customer satisfaction, as well as to identify areas for potential improvement, as applicable.

CGIC Chairman and Founder Levy P. Laus noted that the overall positive performance of the company and its people enabled CGIC to achieve the said milestone. He added that CGIC owes the new achievement to their valued clients.

“Not many companies are given the chance to avail [themselves] of the ISO 9001:2015, but we are very lucky to have been the few to achieve this new version, which is a different kind and more rigid ISO certification. This is of course through the support of each and everyone who are part of the CGIC team and the LausGroup, and our loyal customers who trust and support us through the years,” he said.

“This gives us something to be very proud of and this strengthens the reputation and credibility of CGIC. With this ISO certification, our customers are guaranteed of our company’s capability to deliver quality insurance products and services that would meet or even exceed their expectations,” he added.

SGS Philippines Managing Director Ariel Miranda lauded the non-life insurance firm for its exceptional performance in all aspects of its operations and for raising the standards of competency and professionalism.

“In behalf of SGS, I would like to congratulate CGIC on receiving the ISO 9001 version 2015. This means that the CGIC has been assessed and certified as meeting the requirement of ISO 9001:2015 for the probation of non-life insurance products and services, issuance of policy, and settlement of claims, motor, fire, casualty, marine and bonds. This certificate is certified and authorized by SGS United Kingdom,” he said.

Founded in 1997, CGIC belongs to the top non-life insurance companies in the Philippines. It is the only one in Luzon headquartered outside Metro Manila and one of only six non-life insurance companies in the country that are ISO-certified.

The CGIC is also the only non-life insurance company in Southeast Asia to be awarded with the People Management Excellence Standard Recognition and Certification by Investors in People.

The CGIC is a member of the LausGroup, considered as the biggest multi-brand dealership network in the country today.
